Grand Cairo with Felucca Ride - two day one night

Meet your tour guide and begin your journey to Cairo. Once you arrive you will visit the Egyptian Museum, located in Tahrir Square in Cairo. The museum was moved here from its second home in the Giza Palace of "Ismail Pasha". There are 107 halls with the collection in chronological order. The ground floor holds the huge statues while the upper floors house smaller statues, jewels Tutankhamon treasures and the mummies.

You will then travel to the Citadel, one of the world;s greatest monuments to medieval warfare as well as a highly visible landmark on Cairo's eastern skyline. Originally used as a lookout, during the 12th century a fortress was built and there has been one ever sense.

Located within the Citadel is the tomb of Mohammad Ali built between 1830 and 1857. This is also known as the Alabaster Mosque due to the extensive use of the material. From the arcaded courtyard, you have a magnificent view across the city to the pyramids of Giza.

Your next stop will be a felucca ride on the Nile. A felucca is a traditional Egyptian sailboat. They rely solely on the wind and have remained as dominate mode of transportation through the years.

There will be a break for lunch along with some time for shopping.

Before returning to your chosen hotel for the night, enjoy a Sound and light show in the pyramid.

Day two begins at 7:00 AM with a visit to the Black Pyramid of pharaoh Amenemhat III who ruled from 1855 to 1808 BC. This pyramid is only one of three remaining of the original eleven that were constructed at Dashur. The Black Pyramid has collapsed on the exterior due to the elevation being close to sea level. The interior passages ways and rooms are still intact.

The Red Pyramid located at Sakkara was the second pyramid to be built and is the third tallest every built, the only two taller are at Giza.

Then on to Giza where you will view the pyramids and the Sphinx. The tallest of the pyramids reside at Giza. The region of Giza is one of the largest burial grounds in Egypt and it is unknown how large it actually is.

You will have lunch break before returning to your cruise ship.
