As well as taking you to some of the "must see" sights of the city, you'll also be introduced to some of the secret corners and hideaways that few people get to see.
We begin with an extended visit to Park Guell, the famous garden city designed by Anton Gaudi. There is nothing quite like a visit to Park Guell to take you deep into the fantasy world of Gaudi, and to introduce you to the history and geography of Barcelona.
From here, we make our way to the Sagrada Familia, stopping off at the most famous hospital in Barcelona, Hospital de Sant Pau I de Santes Creus, built between 1901 and 1930.
Well away from the tourist route, this hospital has been declared a "UNESCO World Heritage Site" and is one of the greatest symbols of Modernist Architecture in Barcelona.
After a short break at one of the cafes on the Avenida Gaudi, we will walk to the famous Sagrada Familia. After a guided visit around the outside of the building, you will have some free time to enjoy your own experience of this unique building.
From here, you will drive to the Passeig de Gracia, home to the famous designer stores, and the setting for two of Barcelona's most talked about Gaudi buildings: La Pedrera and Casa Batillo.
Finally, you will arrive in the very center of the city, Plaza Catalunya.
Lunch is not included, but your guide will recommend some very traditional restaurants in the old center of Barcelona. Nothing will spoil the Barcelona experience more than a bad paella on the Ramblas or a tourist trap tapas!
After lunch, you will discover the Old Barcelona, walking through two of the most famous neighborhoods in the city: the Barrio Gotico, the oldest district, and the Born, the maritime district reconverted into one of the trendiest places in the city.
During the afternoon, you will visit: The Roman Temple, the Royal Palace, the old Jewish district, the Cathedral, the Church of Santa Maria del Mar (symbol of the city), the colorful market of La Boqueria, and, finally, the lively Ramblas.
The one thing we don't do is rush! We take our time because its important for you to feel the atmosphere of these historic places, and to understand how our city was 1,000 years ago.
Before we finish the tour, we will invite you to a selection of tapas and a glass of wine in a converted 16th century medieval stable in the heart of the Barri Gotic.
