Eurway Tour of Nobels Tombs and Temples

You will be greeted at the pier and begin your tour to the Valley of the Kings by transferring to Luxor.

Nobels Tomb is the final resting place of Ramose - vizier and governor of Thebes during the reign of Akhenatan. Akhenatan is responsible for introducing new religious concepts - that changed the importance of Thebes. These tombs have the story of the changes on the walls.

The Habu temple was enclosed by Ramesses III and built his mortuary temple next to it. This complex housed storehouses, workshops, administrative offices and residences of priests and officials. It was used as a refuge during chaotic times and later was covered by the Coptic town of Djeme where the great temple was filled with dwellings and a court used as a church.

Next stop to view the Colossi of Memnon, the two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Built from blocks of quartzite sandstone, each colossi reach a feet of approximate 60 feet. Their original function was to guard the entrance to Amenhotep's memorial temple.

After transferring back to the eastern bank of the Nile, there will be a break for lunch.

Karnak is the likely the second most visited site in Egypt next to Giza. This vast complex was built and enlarged over a thirteen hundred year period. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man, and represents the combined achievement of many generations of ancient builders.

There will be a short stop to take photos at the Temple of Luxor before returning to your cruise ship.
