Upon arrival in Callao (Lima) you will be transferred to Cusco and your hotel. Here you begin your 3 days and 2 nights with an exploration of the magical capital of the Incas.
This tour included the Santo Domingo monastery, which was built over the Koricancha temple, one of the most important temples dedicated to the worship of the sun. According to the chronicles, it was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. A stop at San Cristobal for a magnificent view of the city of Cusco, before proceeding to the nearby remarkable Inca ruins in the area: the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, the temple and amphitheater of Kenko, and the archeological site of Tambomachay, where the god “water” was worshipped. You will then return to Cusco and stop briefly at Plaza Regocijo and Plaza de Armas, to continue with the visit of the Cathedral, the most important temple of the day which houses the headquarters of the Diocese. You will then return to your hotel for the first night.
You will begin your second day by enjoying breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to the Ollanta station for the expedition train to Machu Picchu. There will be a 25 minute motor coach ride to the “The Lost City of the Incas,” discovered by American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911. You will enjoy a guided tour of the marvelous citadel, a unique awe-inspiring experience. Afterwards, you will have some time to stroll around the archaeological site and enjoy lunch at Sanctuary Lodge. You will return by expedition train to the Ollanta station where you will enjoy dinner on your own.
After breakfast you will be assisted with the transfer to the airport to return to Lima and to your final destination within Lima.
