Grenada West Coast and Nutmeg Plantation

This fascinating journey will take you through the capital; St. George's, viewing the western seacoast of the island.

Drive through the small villages of Brizan, Concord, and Grand Roy to the fishing village of Gouvave. Then, stop at the Dougladston Spice Estate and then to the Gouyave Nutmeg Processing Station, where you will see the nutmegs processed from harvest to export.

Leaving Gouyave, continue through the mountain road of Belvedere, where you can see the island's largest bananas and nutmeg plantation. From there you will enter the village of Birchgrove and onto the Grand Etang National Park and the Grand Etang Crater Lake, situated in the center of the island.

Next is Grand Etang, which takes you to the highest point on the island that can be accessed by vehicles, 1910 feet above sea level. The downhill drive back to the pier, with magnificent views of the southwestern parts of the island gives you time to unwind and take in the fresh air.
