Your tour begins with a drive by the winding road to Balaclava harbor. The British army approached Balaclava harbor, and captured it without bloodshed on the 26th of September 1854. The British took Balaclava as their supply base and left it in 1856. The unique S-shaped harbor was an ideal shelter for ships. Nevertheless, it was under Balaclava that the
British lost much of their fleet in storm. Another engineering structure built by the British in Balaclava is the embankment, which is still used today. The first in the Crimean War (and in history) professional military hospital was arranged in Balaclava and was headed by Florence
Nightingale.

The total length of the tunnel is 500m, the length of gallery where the main workshops were located - 300m, the length of channel - 360m, the width 12 m and depth - not less 7 m. In the gallery 7 standard submarines could be located.
