The tour begins with a one-hour drive along scenic roads, passing quaint villages on your way to Hacienda Nosavar, next to Carara National Park and the Tarcoles River. With the advantage of 640 hectares of property and wonderful geography, this project is developing diverse activities for eco-adventure tourism At Hacienda Nosavar you will have the option to experience first-hand many nature related activities.

They will share their experience and knowledge of daily life on a big hacienda in full production. Once at the hacienda, a brief orientation follows and then you're introduced to your gentle four-legged companion who will take you on a leisurely ride through the hacienda’s most beautiful natural scenery.

For years the owners and operators of Hacienda Nosavar, the Vargas family, have been enchanted by the tradition of the cowboy: horses are their passion. They actively participate in horse rides throughout the country. The family offers to share their experience, knowledge, and their best Creole horses to guarantee one of the best memories you will take with you and cherish forever. This is one of the best and most direct ways to enjoy our beautiful country and its charming people.

Besides the experience of life at the 640 hectare cattle ranch, Hacienda Nosavar is also renowned for its natural beauty, one of the best destinations for bird watching, reptile encounters and flora habitat. Being located on the shores of the Tarcoles River, famous for its abundant crocodile inhabitants and a walking distance of the Carara Reserve (home of the biggest red macaw population in Costa Rica), gives the opportunity to share these natural wonders with guests through horseback tours. The horseback ride takes about 90 minutes and visit beautiful trails and the rain forest.

After your shopping time and explore the surroundings, enjoy complementary tropical fresh fruits, coffee and Ice Tea. Continuing our scenic drive, you will return to Puntarenas City for a short sightseeing tour.
After the tour, you can decide to stay in the city or make your way back directly to the ship. For all those interested in walking along the boulevards, the pier is located right at the city at a very short distance from your ship. So, no worries for an easy return.

Note: This most active excursion is suitable only for passengers in good physical condition. Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Bring insect repellent and rain protection. The maximum weight limit is 200 pounds. A complimentary bottle of water is provided. A liability waiver is required.
