Dominica's Jewels

One of the most unique snorkeling areas in the Caribbean is Champagne Reef. After a short walk to the end of the stony reef you will find yourself swimming in bubbles as if you were in a giant aquarium or glass of champagne. Then head on to the Botanical Gardens where you will see the different plants, trees and flowers native to the island. Next you will drive to Ti Tou Gorge, a natural delight and a film location for Pirates of the Caribbean 2. From the parking lot, you will take a 5-10 minute walk to the Ti Tou Gorge. To enjoy the gorge, you would have to take a short swim (about 2 minutes) up a cave-like area. There is a small waterfall one can swim to, The swim is about 100 feet and the water is about 10 feet deep at its deepest point, but it’s only about waist high when you get to the middle of the cave-like area. There is a small waterfall one can swim to, if the water is not flowing too heavily. You will also have the option to climb the waterfall (5 feet) to get to another waterfall. You will be provided a swim belt. Your last stop is Trafalgar Falls, a treat of the twin falls, the father falls (125 feet) and the mother falls (75 feet). You will have an approximately 10 minute walk under the canopy of the rain forest up to the Fall’s view point. Here is where you will see the two spectacular falls. Next you will go below where you can swim in the falls’ refreshing cold water or the warm volcanic mineral water. Please note: You will need to follow specific instructions of the guide to do this portion of the tour for safety reason. Please note: Lunch is not included in this tour however there is time available to purchase lunch at an average cost of $ 15 to $ 20.
