San Juan - El Yunque Rainforest

Take a drive to the northeastern central area of the island for sightseeing at El Yunque Rain Forest, one of the 28 official finalists of the competition New7Wonders.

El Yunque is the only tropical rain forest in the U.S. National Forest System and it’s located on the Luquillo mountain range. The rain forest is noted for its biodiversity and its “home” to exotic flora and fauna. You’ll see jungle like vegetation, wild orchids, waterfalls, giant tree ferns and beautiful hardwood trees. Keep your eyes open for the local parrots and be sure to take your camera to capture the wonderful panoramic views.

During the tour, several stops are made including the tourist recreation centre and the observation tower. Stops are also made at restrooms and local products and handcrafts stores.

Be sure to bring your camera. Approximate walking 150 meters, moderate fitness level. Please note this tour is not wheelchair accessible. This tour is available for groups only. This tour is not available for ship arrivals after noon. This excursion is arranged on the last day of the cruise for guests that disembark in San Juan.
