From Kinsale you travel through the Bandon River valley, passing the ruins of several castles, to Cork.
Continue on to the charming village of Blarney which boasts of having one of Ireland's most famous attractions, Blarney Castle.
Set in a lovely park, the romantic ruin, once a stronghold of the McCarthy's, is home to the Blarney Stone.
The intrepid traveler can climb to the top of the keep for views of the countryside and the Blarney Stone. Those kissing the stone are endowed by legend with the power of eloquence.

The shop offers Waterford crystal, Irish linen, hand-loomed Donegal tweed, knitwear, bone china and Celtic brooches. Be sure to bring your camera.
