Roatan Mangrove Tour
Your Mangrove Tour will take you almost to the last point of the island on the east side where you will then leave the town of Oak Ride in a motor boat, one of the main transportation providers in Roatan years before there were cars.
One of the benefits of this tour is that you get to see that end of the island from the beautiful pristine waters of Roatan, sighting some of the local towns such as Jones Ville, Lucy Point and Jones Ville Point.
While on your journey you will go through a tunnel of mangroves which ends as you reach the settlement of Carob Point. Many Americans have their homes and businesses in this area.
On the way back you may stop at one of the most famous bars and grills on the island, Hole in the Wall, where you'll find tasty food and lots of drinks.
When you return to Oak Ridge the van will be waiting as you continue your tour through the cultural village of Punta Gorda. It is in Punta Gorda where history was made by the Garifunas, some of the first settlers, who reached the island of Roatan from St. Vincent.
You will then visit a beach located on the north side of the island at the resort named Turquoise Bay, where you can enjoy a great meal and use their water sport shop if you would like to rent any equipment for different water activities before heading back to the ship.

Tips
Be sure to bring sunscreen, insect repellant and your camera. Lunch and rentals of equipment for water sports are not included but are available at the beach.Tour times are local time.
