The Eiffel Tower, detested by all Paris upon its completion for the Exposition of 1889, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Revolution, the tower was nearly razed in 1909 but was saved by the development of wireless radio. The first wireless telephones were tested on the tower in 1916.
