Antigua plus Canopy Tour

La Antigua is located one and half hours from the cruise terminal in the central highlands of Guatemala. Famous for its well preserved architecture; it has been designated a UNIESCO World Heritage Site.

Start the tour by visiting the market El Carmen where you can shop; take a walk to the various buildings that surround it, such as the Cathedral, The General Captain's Palace and the Arms museum.

You may also visit iconic churches such as La Merced, Santa Clara and San Francisco.

You'll also have time for lunch on your own.

In the afternoon you will head to the Antigua Canopy Tours, located between San Felipe de Jesus and Jocotenango inside Finca Filadelfia, five hundred feet north of San Felipe Church.

Antigua Canopy tours are one ecological touristic service designed for all the family members. It combines the thrill of jumping between platforms located floor level and on tree branches, running through cliffs and canyons.

As we get on to the Unimog Mercedes truck, specially designed for mountain duties, we will head to the first platform located two miles from the heart of the Farm.

Our guides explain different interesting aspects of culture, history, plants and animals abundant in the area.

When you reach the starting point you will attend to a briefing so you get familiar to the basics of security and the system.

There are two different types of canopy tours, the Forest Express, which consists in 6 trams from 165 feet to 656 feet and a 40 feet rappel at the end.
The other canopy tour is the Canyon Express, with 2 trams, one of 1,706 feet long and the other one is 1,410 feet at approximately 500 feet above the ground!

Speeds in the canyon express reach almost 40 miles per hour!
