Enjoy this narrated tour and experience the ancient Mayan City of Chacchoben. This Mayan city was largely unexplored until 1999 and dates back from 360 A.D. during which time it played an important role in the distribution of such precious items as wood, jade and exotic birds.

After departing from Costa Maya, pass by lush tropical jungles en route to Chacchoben, where you will have the opportunity to explore the ruins and climb the stairs leading to the first plateau.

Tips

This tour departs one hour after ship's arrival in port. The use of flash bulbs, tripods and professional video cameras and equipment is prohibited at the ruins. The use of personal cameras and home video cameras is permitted, however guests will be required to pay a government user fee for the use of video cameras, which at the time of printing was approximately $10.00 USD

Redemption and Voucher Details

  1. After you complete your booking, your credit card will be charged and our expert Shore Excursion Concierge agents will 'hand'-review your shore excursion selections against your cruise itinerary to confirm compatibility. Your credit card statement will list the merchant for the charges as Port Promo Cruise Tours.
  2. You will receive an email within 72 hours of booking from myexcursions@portpromotions.com which confirms your booking and contains the vouchers required for your shore excursions. Please print these vouchers and bring them with you on your cruise. You will be required to turn the voucher(s) in to the corresponding shore excursion supplier(s). The vouchers feature information regarding how to meet up with the tour leader upon arrival to a port and other important details.
