Your journey begins as you stroll through the neo-classical Achilleion Palace, designed and built for the Empress Elisabeth of Austria. After the assassination of the Empress in 1898, Kaiser Wilhelm II owned the palace. Outside you'll discover formal Italian gardens.

With narrow lanes in the old town of Corfu, you'll find walking is the best way to see all the sites. These may include the old and new fortresses (which bear the insignia of the Venetian Republic)the Esplanade (planted with palms and eucalyptus by the French)the English cricket pitch, the Palace of St. Michael and St. George(now a museum, but once home to Corfu's British rulers).

There are some great photo opportunities; Mouse Island, one of Corfu's most famous and photographed sights,a bay and tiny Mouse Island with the distinctive white church. Another is the St Spyridon Church, the resting place of the island's patron saint.

  2. You will receive an email within 72 hours of booking from myexcursions@portpromotions.com which confirms your booking and contains the vouchers required for your shore excursions. Please print these vouchers and bring them with you on your cruise. You will be required to turn the voucher(s) in to the corresponding shore excursion supplier(s). The vouchers feature information regarding how to meet up with the tour leader upon arrival to a port and other important details.
