Valletta Panorama
Explore the walled city of Valletta while glimpsing its diverse historical past. You will see the city's main square and pass many of the ancient buildings en route to St. John's Co-Cathedral, founded by the Knights of the Order of St. John during the 16th century.
Today the cathedral is the final resting place of several knights, their headstones lining the cathedral floor. You'll be escorted through the Mdina, Malta's "Silent City," and the center of Malta's development dating back almost 3,000 years.
You'll walk the streets of the walled city, which affords excellent views from its ramparts. On a visit to the 9th-century Old Cathedral you will view its collection of paintings and woodcarvings.
If time allows, we will also make a brief stop at Valletta's Upper Barracca Gardens for a panoramic view of the island's natural harbor. From this vantage point you'll also see the fortified cities of Senglea, Cospicua, and Vittoriosa.
You'll pass the harbor front area before proceeding outside of the Valletta city gates. During the trip from Valletta to Mdina your motorcoach will pass through the island's Arabic architecture.
