Canal Cruise , Church on the Split Blood & Shopping

St Petersburg was built in 1703 by Peter the Great around a network of canals. Nowadays the city's golden dome and ornate palaces reflect in the waters of the canals creating the air of a fairy tale. Take a relaxing boat trip and view the sights that have made St Petersburg famous the world over.

Your boat will go along the Fontanka, the Moyka, the Winter Canal and a loop on the Neva River. Main sites you'll see along the way include Anichkov Bridge, Enginee's Castle, Summer Garden, the Salt District, Field of Mars, Church on Spilt Blood and many other sites.

After your boat ride you will proceed to the marvelous Russian-style Church on Spilt Blood built on the spot where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated on March 1, 1881. Constructed in 1907, the church was designed in the style of the sixteenth and seventeenth century Russian architecture, inspired particularly by St Basi's Cathedral on Red Square in Moscow. The interior of the church was decorated with diferent shades of marble and several thousand square yards of mosaic.
