What an adventure you'll have as you fly north from Fairbanks and see the vast and remote land below.

Imagine how exciting it will be as you cross the Arctic Circle! Witness remnants of the gold mining that continues nearly 100 years after the yellow metal first brought newcomers rushing north.

View the Trans Atlantic Pipeline, symbolizing the immense changes brought to Alaska's Arctic by the discovery of oil over 30 years ago and then go back in time as you fly over the Yukon River Valley, home of traditional people that sustain their lifestyle and culture as they have for thousands of years.

As the flight route passes just south of the Gates of the Arctic National Park, you'll experience the rugged and magnificent Brooks Mountain. Approximately 2 hours are spent in the aircraft.

Enjoy an orientation and learn the fascinating story of the surrounding Brooks Range wilderness. You'll also participate in a ceremonious Arctic Circle landing at a wilderness community on the Middle Fork Koyukuk River and receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate.

Tips

Morning Departure: 7:00 am; Returns approximately 12:00 noon Afternoon Departure 1:00 pm; Returns approximately 6:00 pm. You will need to take a taxi to the airport if you do not have your own transportation. Luggage Restrictions: If you will be joining us on one of our itineraries which include flying in smaller aircraft it is important to be aware of certain luggage restrictions that apply. All luggage you bring with you will be weighed as part of the check in process. This includes overnight bags, purses, camera bags, and day packs. One-Day Adventures: Guests are limited to 5 - 10 pounds per person. Luggage over 5 pounds is subject to excess freight charges or may need to be stored in Fairbanks. The flight portion of this tour is typically conducted in 8-9 passenger twin-engine Navajo Chieftain. Approximately 2 hours are spent in the aircraft (one hour in each direction).

After you complete your booking, your credit card will be charged and our expert Shore Excursion Concierge agents will 'hand'-review your shore excursion selections against your cruise itinerary to confirm compatibility. Your credit card statement will list the merchant for the charges as Port Promo Cruise Tours.
  2. You will receive an email within 72 hours of booking from myexcursions@portpromotions.com which confirms your booking and contains the vouchers required for your shore excursions. Please print these vouchers and bring them with you on your cruise. You will be required to turn the voucher(s) in to the corresponding shore excursion supplier(s). The vouchers feature information regarding how to meet up with the tour leader upon arrival to a port and other important details.
